Read My Lips: Using QR Codes to Bring Recruitment Advertising to Life

James Trezona, MD of tech marketing agency Mason Zimbler explains how they used QR codes in the creative for the agency’s latest recruitment campaign.

Mason Zimbler is a creative marketing agency and specialist in the technology sector, producing integrated B2B and B2C campaigns for global organisations. When we were planning a recruitment drive for our agency, it was important that:

  1. Our campaign stood out from the crowd
  2. We were able to demonstrate that our passion for the tech industry goes deep.

So we devised a simple press ad for the back page of The Drum magazine; a full page ad featuring a photograph of my face alongside a QR code. Activate the code and lay your mobile ‘phone over my mouth and the ad comes to life via a video message.
